Introduction: Brieanna & The Joro Spider

Hi there!

My name is Brieanna. I'm writing this blog to make my weird little heart happy. I like watching all kinds of crazy movies and plan on writing a little post once a week with some kind of review or interpretation of some spooky movie.

A Little about me:

I'm from the spooky south, and I love out-of-pocket shit. Like things my boyfriend says. I have a book blog called A Novel Life with my best friend, and Spoovies is my personal horror diary.

It all started when I was a kid, and my parents allowed me to watch CSI. Since that happy accident, I have been hooked. In elementary school, I wanted to be a Medical Examiner, but now, in my late 20's, I work from home, working on a new degree.

In my down time, I watch horror, true crime, controversial dramas, and documentaries regarding anything and everything, and I write my thoughts down here.

Why Horror? Scary art reflects the ugliness of our real world in a way that can be funny, meaningful, or dreadful. All of which are important human emotions to experience. And getting to watch movies and weird shows that make me happy is all I want to do all day.

The Joro Spider:

I chose this little dude to be Spoovies' Mascot because he is considered an invasive species where I live, but some experts have said that they have fit right into the ecosystem without significantly harming it. Taking the role of the common garden spider.
